About This Dog for Adoption

Teddy's ideal home

Meet Teddy– he’s an endearing, two-year-old Miniature Poodle with a sensitive soul and lots of love to give. Teddy seems to have lived a somewhat sheltered life, and he can find new experiences—especially meeting unfamiliar people or dogs—a bit overwhelming. He’s looking for a calm, adult-only home with no other pets, where he can settle in at his own pace. His ideal adopters will be keen to support him as he builds confidence, particularly around other dogs. A secure garden is essential, as he may need help establishing a new toileting routine, and being left alone will need to be introduced very gradually. Teddy’s curly coat requires regular grooming, so his new family should be prepared for the ongoing care and cost. He’ll need a patient, experienced groomer, as he has shown nervousness during grooming in the past.

Could you be Teddy's perfect match?

Once he feels safe, Teddy shows off his affectionate side—he’ll follow you around the house and ask for gentle fuss. He enjoys his walks and would love to explore quiet countryside or woodland areas. However, he’s not a huge fan of water, so beach walks are his least-preferred place to go! He has a few favourite soft toys, which he’ll likely begin playing with once he feels more settled, and a crate he sees as his safe space, so a quiet spot for this is a must. Teddy is currently in a foster home, where he's been a lovely houseguest but he’s now ready to find his forever home—somewhere he can truly relax and thrive.

Poodle Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Poodle.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Poodle Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
