Niko is a lovely boy who is searching for a dedicated home that can continue to support him with his training. He would thrive in a loving environment where he can be an only dog.
An active household would be ideal for Niko, as he absolutely loves adventures filled with exploration and sniffing. Initially, walking in areas with fewer dogs will help him build his confidence while he adjusts to his new life, as well as aiding his training.
Niko thrives on affection but also appreciates his personal space, especially around items he cherishes. Therefore, it’s essential that any children in the home are aged 14 or over and understand how to behave around him. Once he feels settled and secure, he can be left alone for up to four hours, especially if this time is gradually built up.
To help him feel comfortable, adopters should be prepared to manage his interactions with higher-value items by implementing 'swap' and 'drop' training strategies. With the right approach, Niko is sure to bring joy and companionship to his new family!
