About This Dog for Adoption

Roby's ideal home

Roby is looking for a home where any children are over the age of 14. He could potentially live with another calm dog who won't expect too much play from him, but no cats. Roby is house trained and once settled could be left for around 3 - 4 hours. His coat is quite high maintenance and will require regular trips to the groomers, so this cost should be considered when applying. Roby has also had some issues with sore and dirty ears and is currently receiving treatment for this that may need to continue in the future.

Could you be Roby's perfect match?

Roby is a friendly boy who has been happy to make lots of friends here at the centre. He is quite comfortable in the company of other dogs however he can be a little selective about the four legged company he keeps, much preferring calm and easy going dogs over anybody that wants to play. He loves to get out on his walks and take in all the new smells although he can be a little wary initially of new new places. Roby doesn't seem too interested in toys but he does love a tasty treat, which he should always be left alone to enjoy in peace. He alreadty knows most of his basic training and is used to travelling well in the car so is now just looking for a calm home with a family who can offer him some nice walks and plenty of cuddles.

Poodle Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Poodle.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Poodle Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
