Ivy

6 weeks

Ivy's ideal home

Ivy is a a sensitive girl who would love to find a a quiet home. She is really sweet but will appreciate time and space without children around. However she can share her home with older teenagers as long as they are sensible and give her space. Ivy loves her doggy friends and would benefit from living with a confident dog to show her the ropes. She is quite clingy and needy so is looking for a dog that will tolerate this until she becomes more independent. As an anxious soul she will need a secure garden of her own as she might be too worried to go out at first. Ivy was extremely matted when she came into our care and so was given a welfare groom. Her coat will grow back given time, and will just need regular grooming to keep it in tip-top condition once it has.

Could you be Ivy's perfect match?

Ivy is a 5-year-old Poodle/Labrador Cross. We don’t know anything about her life prior to coming into our care but she arrived very worried and badly matted. One of our staff has taken her into foster to give her a break from kennels and to give her the time and space she needs to start building her confidence. Things like car travel, being left, and housetraining will all need some work once she’s settled. She’s already getting more settled in the car and starting to look out the window with curiosity. Ivy adores being around other dogs but can be a bit of a clingy pest! She’ll need a patient, understanding family who will help her learn about the world. Underneath all the nerves is a lovely, goofy lady who is just waiting to come out.

Poodle Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Poodle.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Poodle Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
