Description

Highland's ideal home

Say hello to Highland! This little guy is even cuter than the Highland cows he is named after, and he is looking for a very special home to call his own. Highland is a 6-year-old Cockapoo who arrived at Dogs Trust in a very sorry state. He has been working really hard alongside our amazing Training Team to build his trust and confidence around people. He has come so far, and we can’t wait to see the progress he could make in his very own home! As Highland is more on the nervous side, he will need an adult only home with adopters that will take things at his pace. He will need multiple meets here at the Rehoming Centre so that you can get to know each other and form a friendship before he heads home. Highland has the sweetest nature, and we know that with the right person he will continue to blossom. Highland can potentially live with another dog after successful meets here at the Centre.

Could you be Highland's perfect match?

Highland is doing amazingly with building his confidence when out and about! He has joined the Team for coffee breaks and has been very brave saying hello to new people when walking around the Centre. Furthering his progress in his new home will be discussed and supported by the Training Team that have been with him every step of the way. Highland’s adopter should be someone that can spend lots of time with him, to build the trust and bond that he needs. Once he is more confident in his new environment, leaving time will be able to be gradually increased. If you think you can offer Highland the supportive home he is looking for, please submit an application and include him as a ‘Favourite’ dog. Thank you!

Poodle Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Poodle.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
