About This Dog for Adoption

Jim's ideal home

This cute little chap is 1 year old Miniature Poodle, Jim! He is a little bit more on the sensitive side, and is searching for a loving home that will help him find his confidence. Jim will be best suited to an adult only home, or a family with older secondary school children. He feels more comfortable in a calm environment, and although he can live with with another dog, they will need to be calm natured as he finds boisterous dogs to be too much. Jim is a super friendly boy, and likes to look to the people around him for reassurance. He will need multiple meets at the Centre with his adopters before he goes home to build a relationship. Jim has also never been left alone for very long, so his adopters should be at home with him to begin with until he settles in, and then leaving time can be gradually increased.

Jim is a super little dog, he loves attention and to be fussed over! If you are looking for a little cuddle buddy, Jim will happily fill this role once he gets to know you. As Jim is still quite young, he has some puppy behaviours that can be worked on through basic training in his new home. He loves his food, but hasn't shown much interest in toys as we are unsure if he has ever seen them before! Once he is settled into his new home and finds his confidence, he may show his playful side and play with his toys. Jim walks very nicely on the lead and likes to get out and about, although he can be a little unsure, so his adopter will need to help him with confidence in this area too through encouragement and yummy treats! With the right amount of time, love and attention, Jim will blossom into an amazing companion for his adopter.
