About This Dog for Adoption

Duggee's ideal home

Meet 2 year old Duggee. He's a friendly Poodle x Cocker Spaniel who is on the search for a new forever home. He must be the only pet in the home but has the potential to make a few dog friends out on walks - he can be very selective about who he wants to socialise with! He could live with secondary school aged children who are confident around a sometimes boisterous dog. Duggee is currently in a foster home where he likes to follow the people around the house everywhere and is not at all keen on being left and will be vocal. He is looking for someone who can spend the majority of the day with him and who won't mind a sleeping companion at night too. Duggee will need a private secure garden to enjoy and play in to burn off some of his energy!

Could you be Duggee's perfect match?

Duggee is friendly with everyone he meets although he can be a little shy initially. He came in to our care due to not getting along with the other dogs in the home and not wanting to share his favourite people with them. He is looking for someone who can help build his confidence around other dogs and also introduce being left for short periods of time in a positive way. Duggee is a very affectionate boy in the home and would love a family where he can be the centre of attention.

Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Poodle Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Poodle.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Poodle Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
