About This Dog for Adoption

Elsie's ideal home

Elsie is a beautiful Poodle Giant Schnauzer cross with a kind heart and a gentle soul. She is almost 7-and-a-half-years old and looking for a relaxed, loving home where she can enjoy life at a steady pace. Elsie could live with children aged 5 and up, though she would be happiest with slightly older ones who are confident around medium-to-large dogs. She could also share her home with a similar-sized dog, provided the introductions go smoothly, but she will be just as content as the only dog. She is friendly to everyone (visitors included). In her previous home she would comfortably settle with the curtains drawn, a radio on and a chew when left, although she did bark occasionally if she heard noises outside. Elsie is good with traffic although she does not enjoy long car journeys so she will suit a family who can keep her adventures closer to home.

Could you be Elsie's perfect match?

Calm, friendly and affectionate, Elsie loves people and is always happy to meet new friends. She takes her treats gently, enjoys fuss and grooming and is even happy to have her teeth brushed. She is not too fussed about toys but will sometimes enjoy chasing a ball and she knows a handful of tricks like sit, down, paw and wait. Elsie is housetrained, easy-going and loves the simple things in life – good company, a bit of fuss, and the chance to stretch her legs before settling back down. With her gentle nature and loving personality, Elsie will be a wonderful addition to a calm and caring home.
