Wade's ideal home

Wade can live with children over the age of 14 and needs to be the only pet, although he can walk with some calm dogs. Wade is house trained but not used to spending time alone so this will need to be built up gradually if necessary.

Despite his tough exterior, Wade is quite a fearful boy and he's looking for a family that can help him feel more confident about life. He worries about a lot of things and sadly has had a shock collar used on him. Wade is frightened of the mop and hoover and will run away and hide in a corner. He needs life to be more positive for him, at the heart of a loving family who will work with him rather than punish him. Wade has been building some lovely bonds with his handlers and is now happy to run off lead and play with them. He's getting used to regular walks again although he is wary of new places, but lots of encouragement and time has done wonders for him. He's quite strong on his lead when he's feeling good so his adopters will need to be sure they can hold him! Wade reacts to other dogs on his walks if they are too close to him, but we know he has had canine pals in the past. We've had him walking with dogs who aren't bothered about interacting with him and this is a good place to start. Wade deserves a new beginning with a family that understands his fears and can help him make them a distant memory.
