Charles is a one-year-old boy who can be worried when meeting new people at first, but once he builds a relationship he shows his softer side and will come over for a fuss. He takes a lot of reassurance from his kennel mate, Dwight, and gains noticeable confidence when by his side. Charles is also worried when meeting other dogs, again feeling braver when Dwight is with him. He has a medium energy level and would suit a calm, understanding home where life isn’t too busy or overwhelming.

Charles is looking for very patient adopters who are willing to commit to ongoing training and confidence building, as he will need full rehabilitation to help him cope with new environments, unfamiliar people, and everyday household noises. He cannot be left alone initially, and any leaving hours will need to be introduced slowly and carefully. Charles can live with sensible children aged 16+ and will need to be rehomed with Dwight, who provides him with comfort and reassurance. With time, consistency, and plenty of love, Charles and Dwight will be incredibly rewarding companions for calm adopters ready to invest in his journey.
