Beryl is a gentle, 1-year-old girl who is a little shy when first meeting new people, but she is friendly and quickly gains confidence once she’s out on a walk. She can also be unsure around other dogs and prefers those of a similar size with a calm, independent nature. Beryl could happily live with Maple or another older, steady dog who can help reassure her and show her that the world isn’t such a scary place. She can live with cats, dogs, and dog-savvy children aged 8+, has a medium energy level, and can be left for a few hours once she’s fully settled into her new home.

Beryl is looking for patient, understanding adopters who are willing to put time and effort into training and confidence-building. She will need complete rehabilitation, as everyday household sights and sounds—such as vacuum cleaners, washing machines, kettles, and general family life—are all completely new experiences for her. Beryl will need housetraining and has never been walked on a lead before- so will also benefit from loose lead walking training. With calm guidance, consistency, and plenty of reassurance, Beryl has the potential to grow into a confident and loving companion in the right home.
