About This Dog for Adoption

Riley's ideal home

Riley is looking for a home where any children are aged 14 and up, and he could potentially live with another dog if they are compatible. He struggles to be alone so will need someone at home with him for most of the time, gradually building up any solo time. Riley has been house trained in his previous home and he will require a few visits to him at the centre before he goes home.

Could you be Riley's perfect match?

Riley is just a young pup full of life but he finds new situations quite daunting. He likes new friends to approach him slowly, giving him time to build confidence, and the same goes for new places, slow and steady is key. Less than a year old, Riley is very enthusiastic about most things and he loves his toys and playtimes. Once he is comfortable with someone there are no further issues with his nervousness, but he does get a little upset if his favourite people showing affection towards each other and he tries to insert himself between them. Riley has also struggled when left by himself so his new family will need to be committed to keeping him company all the time, but alone time can be introduced gradually so that he realises there is nothing to fear form being by himself for a little while. Riley interacts nicely with other dogs if he is introduced appropriately and can be very playful and relaxed. He was startled by a dog than got a need for the zoomies and didn't want anything further to do with them, so his chums will need to be selected carefully! He could live with another dog as long as they were calm, and his adopters will need to make sure he is gently and selectively socialised in order to help build his confidence.
