About This Dog for Adoption
Harry's ideal home
Harry is a 3 year old miniature Poodle cross who is looking for a very understanding and patient home to thrive in. Harry takes time to build up a bond with unknown people so there should be a maximum of 2 adults and the youngest person should be in their late teens. He would also need another confident and gentle adult dog to live with as he does rely on them for confidence, especially when first settling in. He cannot live with cats. Harry can be vocal towards other unknown dogs initially, so potential adopters should consider if their dog could cope with this whilst Harry gets to know them. He will need a fully secure, private garden to enjoy whilst he settles and his ideal location would be where he can go for walks without bumping into many dogs. Harry will need adopters who are available to come for multiple, regular meets and are open to having a couple of home visits before being able to be adopted - you should therefore live within a reasonable travel distance to the Snetterton centre. Harry travels well in the car and is fine being left for a few hours once he has settled in. Please note that Harry is on long term medication to help with his generalised anxiety, this would need to be continued in the home.
Could you be Harry's perfect match?
Harry is currently in a foster home where it has taken a few weeks to settle in but with time and patience he is now a cheeky little boy with lots of character! He is very timid around people he doesn't know as he wasn't treated very well as a puppy, but once he has built a bond with someone he is the most affectionate, cuddly boy you could imagine. Harry will go for as long or as little as you like on walks - if you fancy a long hike or a run, he'll happily join you, but if you'd like a day in, he's happy to snooze the day away or play fetch in the garden. Harry can be very vocal towards other dogs, but he has worked hard on his dog social skills and is getting better with his training - he would however still prefer walks in quiet areas. He is living with two other dogs currently and does enjoy occasionally cuddling up with them, but doesn't want any boisterous play. Harry is the most amazing little boy once you're in his inner circle - could you be the patient and loving home he's looking for?
