About This Dog
It is with absolutely heartbreaking sadness that I'm looking for a new home for Nova. She is an absolute joy, but I'm disabled and live alone, and I worry that she's not getting enough of what she needs.
Nova is fully house trained, up to date with vaccines, flea and worming treatments, and is microchipped.
She's an extremely happy, gentle and loving dog. She gets on well with other dogs and with children. I've not seen her with cats, but she's incredibly friendly generally.
I've worked very hard on her training and her manners are very good. She'll wait for "okay" before coming out of her crate or taking food that's been put down for her. She walks well on a lead and her recall is excellent. She's crate trained and very used to being left happily for a couple of hours. She isn't generally destructive and isn't a barky dog at all.
Nova is usually excited about meeting new people, so an initial meeting isn't necessarily very representative of what she's normally like! Once she's settled at home she's actually a very chilled-out dog who spends most of her time pottering about, snoozing on her bed or curling up beside you. She loves people and is an incredibly affectionate and loving dog.
She currently lives in a village and I'd particularly love to find her another rural or semi-rural home. I'd prefer someone who has had dogs before or already has a dog/dogs.
Most importantly, I'm looking for Nova's **forever home**. If she leaves me, I want this to be the only time in her life that she is ever rehomed.
For that reason, **I would require a trial period before agreeing to any permanent rehoming**. I'd envisage Nova staying with a prospective family for a long weekend or up to a week, then coming home to me afterwards so that everyone can have a few days to think about how it went before any final decision is made. This isn't negotiable, as I want both Nova and her new family to have the best possible chance of being completely right for one another.
I'd also really like her new family to be comfortable staying in occasional contact afterwards with updates and photos. If distance and circumstances allowed, and Nova was happy with it, I'd love to still see her very occasionally too. She is incredibly loved and the thought of never knowing how she's doing again would be very difficult for me.
Her price will include her home and travel crates, crate mat, bed, car seat, crash-tested car harness and seat belt, walking harnesses, leads, bowls, lots of toys, and all her remaining treats and food.
Finding the **right** home for Nova is far more important to me than finding one quickly, so please only get in touch if you're comfortable with the trial arrangement and are looking for a much-loved dog to become a permanent member of your family.
